The Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival (SVJFF), Consul-General of Israel, Northwest Region and Cinequest Film Festival partnered to present a spectacular film event featuring "Beaufort", the first-ever Israeli Oscar contender for Best Foreign Language Film. Ron Leshem, the noted Israeli author of the book on which the movie was based at the beautiful San Jose Repertory Theater in downtown San Jose.

Beaufort, a 2007 film, is a fictional story based on actual events focusing on the dilemma of Israeli soldiers posted to the Beaufort Crusader stronghold during their withdrawal from the Lebanese occupation.

Ron Leshem, the noted Israeli author of the book on which the movie was based, will speak after the film, at the beautiful San Jose Repertory Theater in downtown San Jose. Following his remarks, his book will be available for purchase and an author book signing.

Mr. Leshem is a journalist and editor and he has worked for these Israeli newspapers Yedioth Ahronth and Ma'ariv.
